If upgrading from StandbyMP v11 or earlier, please contact us to request new license keys.
The dbvcontrol dashboard allows you to view the license information status at any time. However, synchronising the standby database and taking other actions is not possible without a valid license.
The process of checking and modifying license information is the same for all three database platforms. License validity is checked periodically, and if there are any issues, a warning will appear in the dbvcontrol dashboard.
The Licence information and warnings displayed in the dashboard are valid only if the dbvagentmanager on primary is running correctly. For example in this case:
Even though we see “License is Invalid,” we can disregard the warning that the License is invalid because primary dbvagentmanager has ERROR status and, as such, cannot provide relevant license information.
Never try to update or view license information if the primary dbvagentmanager is not running correctly.
On ACTIONS pane for the configuration for which you would like to check the license, click on the “Update” button:
Afterwards, you will be able to see and edit the license details:
You will be able to see License Expiration date (1) along with license type and “issued to” information together with actual license key (2).
Optionally, you will be able to enter new license key into field License key (3) after which the button “Update” (4) will become active (only if the new key is evaluated successfully.
Click either on Update (4) to update the license key or Close (5) if you don’t want to make any changes.
