Add Schema to the Replication Using PREPARE SCHEMA Command

Follow
Problem Description

We currently have a replication at schema level and want to add another schema to the replication. This article explains the best way to achieve this .

Solution

This can be done using the PREPARE SCHEMA command.

From the Dbvisit Replicate console:

  1. Pause the APPLY process:
    dbvrep> PAUSE APPLY
  2. Prepare the schema:
    dbvrep> PREPARE AS OF <<YOUR\_SCN\_NUMBER\_HERE>> SCHEMA <<SCHEMA\_NAME>>
  3. Instantiate Data by loading data from the source into the target. This can be done using the Oracle Datapump tool.
  4. Once import is complete, resume the APPLY process:
    dbvrep> RESUME APPLY
